MD Metal with a sax and a violin is always a beautiful listen.
The vocals are powerful. Good production.
Great album overall. Favorite track: All Roads Lead to Perdition.
Metallurgical Fire

Metallurgical Fire Wow. A surprising album this is, one of the most unique and compelling death-doom records I’ve ever heard. There are so many layers and elements to this that you can forget what genre you’re in at times, and I love that. Dan Nahum is a very adept drummer, and helps give drive to songs that you might otherwise get lost in. I’ll be returning to this regularly. I have to say also that the lyrics are well written and thought provoking. Favorite track: Embittered.

JaXuN I like it! lots of influences here. Unlike others, I won't pick a single element and call it off putting right after I praise it. Keep up the good work ☠️
Whisdoms End

Whisdoms End I always liked projects who experiment with the music they do. In this case I appreciate the wide range of "uncommon" instruments for metal which are used. The album gathers a bitter, harsh atmosphere all manifested in wonderfull, long tracks. Favorite track: All Roads Lead to Perdition.
Wallow Within

Wallow Within Gotta admit this was an instant buy, because I really liked the harshness and the punch they deliver and that outstanding voice/ voices. Unfortuantly it loses a lot of it's power due to the excessive use of psychedelic elements. Great for those who like it certainly, but it really puts me off. Pity.

Like the hungry ghosts that haunt this rotten soil Insatiable appetites for the impossible Raped, defiled and plundered her abundance in spades The detritus of a failed landscape remains In the throes of an inherent annihilation Atrabilious to the very marrow Steadfast to displace a pagan past Worshipping the Inorganic Until the Skyscrapers mark our tombstones here Mouldering away in shallow self tilled graves Collective coffin culture hits that final nail Skeletal lords of the debris never appeased Bleed the stone in the name of unrivalled avarice Like contagium it crawls through decaying urban sprawls This death wish fixative, hum to the tune of our Requiem Headfirst into a Draconian impasse Perpetuate this war pandemic Until the Skyscrapers mark our tombstones here Witness our ways return to naught Skies torn asunder as the oceans boil Castrate her impotent A century of petty theft has robbed our cradle bare Until the skyscrapers mark our tombstones here

Soured by the years of systematic denial Embittered to the rotted core Perils of the mirror bane conspires A soul's deprivation disrobed The very front that saves enslaves Content to bathe in wretchedness Self negligent to breaking points Perpetuate the preferred state of duress Delight in spiteful self resentment Bear this crux of self disgust Paint the four walls black, Let the eyes roll back Adhere to the redux of mistrust Paint the four walls black, Let the eyes roll back Transmute moral weakness into some twisted symbol of merit Defecation upon the hand that provides Negating a way forward as if in self defence Vulgar tongue undercuts the mouth that utters Floundering in a paradoxical pretence Thwarted by the blaze of your own self hatred Seduced by the degradation trails Seduced by the degradation trails Resent life beyond the grave Embittered to the core

Wretched souls intrinsically bound to the grindstone complacency toils away chain gangs on the ever expanding miserable topography economic prisons rise in the blink of an eye tethered one and all paving the black rivers that lead to a collective decline Failing the very thing that nurtures survival As our levee breaks Disorder slips through the cracks No hope to sustain when we've outgrown our home No longer able to stave off a tipping point towards collapse All our roads lead to perdition Feeding the Sheeple a steady diet of compelling distractions Paving the roads leading to new middle ages

To sleepwalk one thousand lifetimes and beyond The stillborn catatonic and adrift, ill prepared to row Never to reach the shores of dawn Cataracts on swollen eyes, ever so wide shut Aimless Societies of samsara We comatose creatures dream as one A Life long Slumber Strangle the common ape with the hands of a clock Each at a loss to move forward, frustrated, anxious and apart Ever resentful of life's mistakes, The dull ache that seldom abates Tear the source asunder March en masse to the geographic arrhythmia Simulacrum of a once abundant soil This land sadness permeates the landscapes of failure So slowly it has severed the tethers off The door to our perceptions but barely ajar with a lifestyle that invites extinction absolute

To pass through the eye of their needle and arrive at some gate of reward To live at odds with the truth - blinkered, bound and gagged To rest, work and play inside the barricades and facades Forever under watchful eyes Inside the straight and the narrow, ceremonies of opposites No slim pickings for aggressors clothed as victims To view the skewered through each filtered lens and not sense the vultures amongst the plebes To their very marrow, usurp all dissidence lost to smoke and mirrors when the masters look like victims To defeat the spirit, subsumed to the innermost Our fatal flaw inherent, a weighted consequence hegemony hammer home illusions of consent dystopia ad nauseam aggressors clothed as victims

about

Nearly four years after releasing the debut self-titled album, Melbourne based Experimental Death-Doom band Subterranean Disposition returns with a massive new full-length album entitled “Contagiuum and the Landscapes of Failure.” With over two decades of experience in various projects, (including in bands such as Cryptic Darkness, The Eternal, and Insomnium Dei among others), Subterranean Disposition founder Terry Vainoras brings with him a plethora of writing and recording experience, and has used that to his advantage, in crafting an unmistakably bold, creative, and forward-thinking album that incorporates as many elements and techniques outside the doom metal genre as within it.

Asides from a wide variety of guitars, bass, and vocal styles, Terry also plays saxophone on the album, and enlisted the help of Dan Nahum (Bleakwood, The Veil, Dead River Runs Dry) on Drums, Gelareh Pour on Kemancheh, Qeychak Alto and voice, and Daniel Lucas on guest vocals. All-in-all, a wide variety of sound textures, dynamics, and emotion are incorporated into this album, ultimately crafting an album drenched in atmosphere and post-apocalyptic fervor with subtle and careful deliberation in every aspect of its writing and recording.

“Contagiuum and the Landscapes of Failure” was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Adam Calaitzis at Toyland studio in Melbourne Australia, and the album cover was crafted by acclaimed New York artist Coby O’Brien (whose cover art also appears on past HDR compilations). This album will be jointly released by Hypnotic Dirge Records and BadMoodMan Music on June 13, 2016.
