Onanjath I think I destroyed the mind of a barista today by telling her I like my coffee like Ov Shadows. Cold, black as ink and impossibly smooth. Favorite track: Hordes Abiding the Narrator.

H.L. OV SHADOWS' latest release "I Djävulens Avbild" made it to #4 on my album TOP 10 in 2020. Now I discovered also the debut and must say it is no worse, at least not much. "The Darkness between Stars" is also characterized by a matchless massive darkness and dense black atmosphere. The sound fits perfectly: Heavy but organic, supporting the impact of the sinister anthems in fast paced passages and in majestic creeping parts. OV SHADOWS are one of the most exciting bands in todays black metal! Favorite track: Bellowing Shadows.

"This is an amazing debut album! An atmosphere of choking fog, an eruption of wild, feral savagery in an inhuman speed. It's terrifying intense since the beginning with "The Darkness Between Stars"."
-Terra Relicta

"The first thing that stands out almost immediately on this raw & rough record is the unbelievably intense drumming. Utterly shocking in its delivery, inhuman in its speed. The second thing is the blackness that surrounds everything else. The vocals howl like a freezing wind and the guitars alternate between ferocity & sombre melody. The Darkness Between Stars will make you sit up & take notice."
-Games, Brrraaains, and a Headbanging Life

"Ov Shadows writes another chapter in their book of successive masterpieces. If you looking for something different, epic this album will take you on a sophisticated and weighty black metal journey into another universe where music has the power to transcend the spoken word."
-Metalhead Spotted

"What I the album does best is pushing an uncompromising sound of pure Black Metal hatred, and all that is perverse about the world, echoed in seven tracks of damnation of the soul. Purists will surely find this to their liking, as I believe will fans new to the genre."
-Metal Temple
